Story Wheels Pony Rides is a book and interactive plush toy all rolled into one! Soft Play has a whole series of Story Wheels books available (including a bulldozer, train, and more). Each one "contains a variety of activities and sounds to keep children engaged in interactive play that will stimulate their imagination and help develop motor skills." On the bottom (or undercarriage) of each plus vehicle is a soft, cloth book that contains a simple, rhyming story about the vehicle's adventures.

Pony Rides is a plush pony truck. The tailgate even opens and closes with Velcro. It comes complete with a removable plush pony that neighs when squeezed. My one-year-old son loves this toy! He carries the pony around with him and is constantly squeezing him to hear him neigh. The recommended age range for the Story Wheels products is 6 months to 3 years. Younger ones will enjoy holding the pony and truck (which rattles) and seeing the bright colors, while older ones will enjoy using their imaginations to play with the toys. All ages will enjoy the simple story.

The Story Wheels products come packaged in an open box. Parents will want to remove all tags and fasteners before introducing the toy/book combination to their child. The quality is great; I would expect these toys to hold up through years of play.

The retail price of these products is $19.95. The Soft Play website offers them at a reduced price. I would definitely recommend them! I love the fact that the Story Wheels products are not just a toy, but also a book--what a great way to promote literacy to little ones! These would make a fantastic gift for the upcoming holidays, or you may want to buy one "just for fun!"
