This curriculum just came out. I was fortunate enough to be able to review it before it was published, and then AIG sent me the finished product a few weeks ago. The Pilgrim's Progress is going to be our Bible study for the entire year. The publishers intend this to be a 13-week study, but I intend for us to cover the lessons in a bit more detail using the Extension Activities.

This all-in-one curriculum contains the entire text of The Pilgrim's Progress. Inside the back cover of the hardback book is a CD that contains printable pages for "Truths to Ponder" (younger students), "Digging Deeper" (older students), the Extension Activities, and Character Analyses. Each lesson is designed to take about 30 minutes if you just read the text and go over the discussion questions. The Extension Activities branch out into history, science, and language arts. The curriculum also suggests ways to incorporate a timeline and map work into the study.

I believe this will be a great one-year study for us. Honestly, I do not believe a family would use The Pilgrim's Progress only once and then never again. I can see using it three times in a classical education setting. Grammar students could read through it and answer the Truths To Ponder questions. Logic students could read through it and answer the Digger Deeper questions (and complete an occasional Extension Activity or the timeline/map work). Rhetoric students could read the text and complete most, if not all, of the Extension Activities. This versatile curriculum can be used with students of varying ages.
