Thank you for considering the opportunity to contribute to The Old Schoolhouse® Canadian division, The Canadian Schoolhouse.

We publish articles that appeal to Canadian homeschooling families and welcome your content on whatever you may feel called to write, or we can provide you with topics to write about.

Teen writers are very welcome to submit content, too, either because of their own desire to write or as an assigned writing piece by their parent that includes going through the process of getting their article published online.

All of our regular contributors receive a free membership to our curriculum site SchoolhouseTeachers.com or a $50 Giftogram gift card for every 5 pieces published.

Here are a few frequently asked questions.

FAQ'S

Article length should be between 750-2000 words.

We are most interested in having Canadian homeschoolers share their homeschooling life in a personal way so you don’t need to be a professional writer. For those that don’t have much experience writing, we suggest having your article read and edited by someone you know before submitting it to us.

Our editors will go through your article to adjust to standard industry grammar, mechanics, and style. The purpose and message that you are trying to communicate would remain unchanged.

Yes! You may include a bio that will be placed at the end of your article, and it may contain a link or two pointed to your website or appropriate social media accounts. You can also include a link or two in the article itself to your site or other online resources that provide value to readers.

Submit your information in the contact form below or email Stephanie Morrison directly at smorrison@theoldschoolhouse.com with your interest in writing or any questions you have.
