Teen Health, Raising Physically and Emotionally Healthy Teens

Focus on the Family's Physicians Research Council has written an excellent book titled Teen Health, Raising Physically and Emotionally Healthy Teens. Authored by The Focus on The Family Physicians Resource Council, this is the most comprehensive book I have seen on raising a teen. If you are a supporter of Focus on The Family, read no further, go and buy this book. If you want more information, keep reading. This was a complex book to read. Usually I can breeze through parenting manuals in a weekend, but it took me over a month to read Teen Health cover to cover. It is THOROUGH, thought provoking, and occasionally contained information I was not ready to have to ponder. One thing I learned from Teen Health was that you could explain the facts of life while maintaining your child's innocence. I like Teen Health because the information is practical and helpful. This book is for both new and experienced parents and is not patronizing. Important issues, from encouraging spiritual growth to dealing with tobacco, alcohol, and drug abuse, are covered in detail. I really like that teen sexuality is dealt with from a Christian viewpoint and abstinence is stressed. Nutrition for teens is presented in great detail
