Fragile X Syndrome is a condition resulting from a mutated gene on the X-Chromosome. It is hereditary, and its effects can vary widely. Fragile X- Fragile Hope is Elizabeth Griffin's account of living with the effects of Fragile X Syndrome. While she suffered from anxiety and experienced early menopause as a result of this condition, her son was diagnosed as autistic due to the syndrome.

Her son's Autism brought about years of tremendous guilt feelings and grief for Elizabeth. She mourned the loss of the "perfect family" she had wished for. Slowly the Lord brought her through her grief, anger, and fear. Over time, her son has made progress, and Elizabeth has blossomed into an experienced Mother who can help others in their pain. This book tells the story of her journey.

As the parent of an Autistic child myself, there was much I could relate to in this book. If you have a child with special needs, or if you struggle with difficult emotions, you will appreciate the honesty of Fragile X- Fragile Hope. It may give you the encouragement you need.
