Designing Quality Youth Programs that helps organizations with strategic changes, policies, and activities. Included with the book is a CD with adaptable worksheets for many different types of organizations.

First, youth leaders/directors need to know the interests of their youth group members. Do they like camping, hiking, and boating, or do they like indoor activities more. By knowing the youths’ likes and dislikes, the youth directors gain a better understanding of what they need to do when planning programs. Some children may prefer going on a mission trip to going to a Christian-based camp.

Second, youth leaders/directors need to know how many boys they have and how many girls they have so that they can plan on proper chaperones. The leaders need to make sure they have each child's permission and medicines on hand, if necessary.

Third, once the leaders have gathered the necessary information, they need to meet and do some "brainstorming" to help them make the best decisions based on the specific children they're working with. For example, some of the youth may be wheelchair-bound or otherwise handicapped. Therefore, accommodations would need to be planned accordingly.

I believe that by following the step-by-step instructions within this book and CD, any youth leader/director would gain a wealth of information. I found no negative information in this book, and the price is very affordable.
