What's your plumb line? Sometimes I forget as I seek to stuff my children's brains with knowledge. In this presentation, Diana reminds us that Scripture is the only plumb line for the Christian. If you haven't heard Diana speak or teach, you are missing one of the most important voices of homeschooling today. She is wise and warm, witty and wonderful.
Contrast this Biblical plumb line to a philosophy that puts man at the center of life, with human reasoning the highest pursuit. When you consider the consequences of such a view, many of the problems of modern education come to light. The folly of knowledge for the sake of knowledge is exposed.
Far from just philosophizing about education, Diana gives us some concrete ideas for implementing this view into our homeschools. I've had the privilege to look at some of her curriculum and it fabulously integrates these ideas into easy-to-use materials.
