Learn Quickly Videos and Workbooks Review by TOS PublisherBy Janet Scarpone
How I love modern technology! It's so neat to see a teacher who has earned an incredible reputation as an instructor find herself reaching and impacting more students because of today's technology.
I met Janet Scarpone online, and was impressed with her classrooms on tape. My children and I had the pleasure of reviewing three of many available classes, Learn Writing Quickly (how to write an essay), How to Demonstrate, Introduce and Make a Toast (demonstration speeches), and Math Word Problems. Janet provides clear, concise instruction in basic skills courses that help the student grasp the given concepts. I would say that these classrooms are geared toward the high school student studying for the GED or state high school equivalency exams. Also excellent for adults competing for a work position that requires basic skills testing. I know that just before my children go to take the CHESPE (state of California exam), we will be viewing all of these Learn Quickly tapes once again, and hopefully more as Janet comes out with them. Even though the classes were geared toward older students, even my 10-year-old was drawn in, and was learning and absorbing what Janet was demonstrating. The How to Demonstrate, Introduce and Make a Toast video was my personal favorite and brought back memories of when I was in school, learning these same techniques. All three tapes were great refreshers for myself as a homeschooling mom and publisher. The videos come with corresponding workbooks - super products! We can see why she has won numerous awards, such as "Who's Who of American Women" and the "CALCO Excellence in Teaching Award," among many others. Janet has taught at several universities and colleges, and seems to have an incredible way of touching her students with her classes - test scores appear to go through the roof once students are exposed to her. Sounds almost like magic to me, and we highly recommend Learn Quickly video classrooms to homeschool families!
