We received Jonah: The Fearful Prophet & The Creation for our review this year. In this set, we were blessed with the regular storybooks, the coloring books, and the e-books. The books are paperback but excellent quality. Each is approximately thirty pages long. Janice has a blog at http://www.honeycombadventures.com/blog where you can get insights into her books and find out how to make the Bible come alive to your children!

Jonah: The Fearful Prophet tells the story of Jonah and his great adventure. I was impressed with how accurate the storyline was. Each page has a full-color illustration on the page beside it, which my children loved. The coloring books contain the same illustrations as the story, but the pictures are not colored in. The Creation tells the story of Creation and is also accurate and dependable. I appreciate the quality of the storytelling because many Bible storybooks leave important details out or change them.

Each coloring book has an extra activity section at the end with a word search, crossword puzzle, and questions to ponder. One super neat part of this is you can access the e-book, print pages, and make a Bible story quilt by coloring the pages and ironing onto a cloth. Exact instructions are included online. This is an excellent activity for Sunday schools, Bible schools, or winter evenings!

My children enjoyed coloring and reading these stories. We used them as an early morning read-a-loud devotion for the younger children (ages six and three).

These books make a terrific addition to your Bible library or as a gift for the children in your life! They are also wonderful for the emerging reader because the words are bigger print and are not too difficult. These would be good for devotional style reading your children could do by themselves. Jonah & The Creation are both available for purchase for $9.95 in paperback making them an affordable gift!
