Shark and Dolphins: A Compare and Contrast Book, takes a look at the differences and similarities between sharks and dolphins. There is concise information about both the shark and dolphins in this book.

This is a great science resource for teachers. You could easily do a unit study, lapbook, and notebook pages on sharks and dolphins. It could even be an open discussion type of book with your kids. There are many different options available to use this as an educational tool.

At the back of the book they have several suggested activities you can do with your students. One activity is creating a Venn diagram with fish and mammals. If you have never done a Venn diagram they have an example based off the book for you to go off of.  A scramble the word activity that has facts that isn’t included in the book text.  The last activity in the book is matching the body parts on both the shark and dolphin. The book also has teaching activities, quizzes to use online on the product page.

My kids enjoyed learning about sharks and dolphins. This was a lot of fun and wasn’t overwhelming with information. It was just the right amount to keep them interested in the topic.

The best part is that they learned something new and it was fun for them. I was able to do science and language arts in a unit study with them. We never knew that there is so many different species of sharks and dolphins. My kids loved all the photographs.

The cost is very reasonable to add into a homeschool budget. I really liked the layout out and the amount of information provided was sufficient for my kids.
