Christian Manhood is a book written with the goal of training our boys to be spiritually strong men. It is designed to be used with boys ranging in age from 11 to 14, and it could be used at home, at a Christian school or at a youth group Bible Study. The book is 259 pages long and contains 45 lessons. It is a spiral-bound book, so it lays flat very nicely while in use. You also receive a 100-page Teachers Guide that has background information, teaching methods, suggested memory verses to go with each lesson, and the answer keys for the Student Exercises. It is recommended that this course be taught before the full onset of puberty but after the child reaches 11-12 years of age, depending on the child's maturity level. It is designed to be gone through with an adult, preferably the boy's father--though if that is not possible, a trusted Christian man or the child's mother would be suitable.

The lessons are very well done and include such topics as "Should a Christian Young Man Cry?" "How Do You Treat the Women in Your Life?" "The Importance of Controlling the Flesh," "Friendships with Girls," and many more. All lessons are done from a fairly conservative point of view, but without shying away from issues of sin. Each lesson contains several Student Exercises, Personal Evaluation sections, and Scriptures to look up that reinforce what is taught in the lesson. Most lessons also have a place for the young man to write goals he is setting for himself in his quest to become a Godly man.

We have found this to be a very well done course. It provides Biblical reasons for why something is or is not acceptable for a Christian young man. This is a course that I plan to have each of our boys go through as they reach the proper age. It is a very good value for the money, and I would most definitely purchase it again.
