Martha Greene has put together a wonderful cookbook and much more in her Martha's Family Cookery Book. It is full of delicious, real cooking, real life recipes with ingredients that real folk have in their homes on a regular basis.

Martha has given her cookery book an "old time" feel to it, with beautiful silhouettes, stenciling, and it includes many poems, scripture verses, and words of encouragement.

This cookery book is filled with menus for every day of the week, enough to cover over four weeks of meals -- well over 100 recipes! Martha's recipes call for real, wholesome ingredients for scratch cooking and baking, easily accomplished! Just a handful of the delicious recipes include Oven Fried Chicken, Southern Biscuits, Fruit Cobbler, Tortilla Chips, Creamed Peas w/ Onions, Parmesan Chicken, Buckwheat Pancakes, Apple Butter, Homemade Mustard, Ketchup, Ranch Dressing, even recipes for teething cookies, play doh, and SOAP! The Appendix includes a "Handy Helper Chart" with a conversion chart of measurements, a page of "Handy Substitutions" and (I love this!) a list of pantry stores. A well-stocked pantry saves on all those last minute or extra grocery store stops!
