This high-energy DVD, Stranger Safety, was created by Julie Clark of Baby Einstein and John Walsh of America's Most Wanted. It will give you much to talk about with your children. Along with the 42-minute DVD, the package also includes a "hot tips" mini poster and three safety badges. The video is also available in VHS.

The content of the video includes safety tips for kids and adults, a creative way of helping kids perceive "strangers," closed captions, and options for Spanish subtitles. It is appropriate for ages 5-10.

The humor used in the DVD makes it very entertaining to watch. You will meet "Safe Side Superchick," and she will guide you through the topics covered in the video. She provides an energetic dramatization of situations that could occur in real life. This gives young viewers an idea of how to react if they encounter similar situations. The music video included in the DVD is equally humorous to watch, providing a fun approach to a normally scary topic. I like that approach, especially with young children. It enables the parent to offer this topic in a relaxed manner and thereby encourages good conversation during the program and afterward. Some topics could be scary for children under five years old. So following the recommended viewing age of 5-10 years is a good idea.

I would recommend this video for parents who are looking for a fun and entertaining way to introduce this topic to their children. This is a product that I would buy for myself and for family and friends who have young children. It is an invaluable resource for your homeschool that you will want to use time and time again!
