Caterpillar Butterfly Review by Anissa DeGrasse

Written, Produced and Arranged by: David Grover
Presented by: The Children's Music Project
PO Box 190

Caterpillar Butterfly is a CD brought to you by The Children's Music Project, a non-profit organization devoted to bringing traditional and original folk music to families and children. Accompanying the voice of David Grover are the soothing and comforting voices of The Blafiled Children's Chorus and brilliant music from The Big Bear Band.

The CD consists of twelve original, inspirational and uplifting songs: You're Ok, Caterpillar Butterfly, Shaking Hands, The Fireman is Our Friend, Step by Step, The Promise, Sometimes You Gotta Make a Little Noise, Where Do the Animals Belong?, and Time.

The first song on the CD, "You're OK Just the Way You Are" encourages children to do their homework, take out the trash, and to be helpful to others. It also speaks to the child's self-esteem by encouraging that they are "one in a million" and "the cat's meow and pajamas." The song is fun to sing-along with and the tune is very catchy and entertaining. Each song on the CD teaches many basic traits such as: taking care of our bodies, gratitude, exploring and understanding emotions, along with other key issues that children can easily understand and relate.

The song "Where Do Animals Belong?" persuades children to explore the outdoors by offering information about animals and their homes. During "The Pledge Song" children are encouraged to explore the globe through geography and the beginnings of American history.

If you're looking for an encouraging and uplifting CD to listen to in your car, this is the one because the songs are fun and educational. If you visit The Children's Music Project website, you can listen to a sampling of this CD and others offered through this encouraging organization. You will also find photos from the project and more information about how to obtain your own copy of this and their other musical offerings.
