Steps4Kids to Write Cursive is a wonderful DVD that demonstrates and explains each upper and lowercase letter in the alphabet. It also explains the rules of cursive and how to connect the letters. It is a great way to teach cursive to a visual learner. This is how my students operate best -- by watching and listening. There is some fun to be had here too. There is a break every little bit with a collage of pictures that reminds me of the "I Spy" games. The student has a limited time to list all the items he or she sees that start with the letters just previously learned.

The DVD is about an hour in length but can be viewed in smaller segments to give plenty of time for individual practice. The company's website offers tips for using the DVD. Writing templates are available for download, along with some sample games.

This DVD is perfect for my homeschool because both my girls learn well by this method. They can sit with their headphones on and practice as they watch the DVD. It keeps their attention and is visually appealing. I highly recommend this for any homeschool program with a 4 to 7-year-old that is learning to write cursive.
