What a fun CD! If you need a change from the usual licensed cartoon character entertainment for your children, you should give this simple, appealing CD a try for your preschooler.

Learning Basic Skills Through Music contains 10 songs which present colors, letters, following directions, and more through songs and musical games. First, the loveliest part about this is the instrumental music. It is simple guitar, recorder, and a couple other instruments. The male singing voice is soothing and pleasant. It's not "preschool pop." I love simple music for this age group.

Second, the songs contain games which can be played while listening, such as standing or sitting when colors are called, or acting like an elephant. The insert gives the lyrics and simple instructions for the teacher. I had so much fun listening and playing the games with my three-year-old. She also has enjoyed listening to it many times by herself, but I like having a fun way to play with her. The songs are catchy and easy to learn. You could use this CD in a play group or co-op as well as at home.

The case calls this CD their all-time best seller. I can see why. It's fun, educational, and enjoyable for both children and parents.
