One of the most exciting things I remember studying in school was the solar system. Knowledge Box Central has teamed up with Jeannie Fulbright and Apologia to create a great hands-on, customized resource to go with the study Exploring Creation with Astronomy. In it your children will learn all about the planets, stars, and components of the universe that God made. Exploring Creation with Astronomy Lessons 7-14, Pre-assembled covers lessons 7-14 of the textbook. It is important to note that the other lessons of Exploring Creation with Astronomy are covered in another lapbook from Knowledge Box Central.

This study is available in several formats. You can purchase the PreAssembled study or the e-book. You can purchase it as a CD so that you have a hard copy to keep, or you can purchase a printed version to assemble yourself. When you buy the PreAssembled lapbook, you do also receive the e-book. It comes with two versions: one with color graphics and the other with black & white graphics.

Purchasing this lapbook in the PreAssembled form allows you and your child to start working on the lessons right away, without any preparation of the lapbook.

If you are unfamiliar with what a lapbook is, you will be very pleased with the method of learning. You will find it is a proven method that allows your children to interactively create and display what they are learning about God's creation and astronomy as you work through the textbook. They will use creative writing skills and learn vocabulary words and other important facts as they complete booklets (shaped like planets, rockets, and stars) that all fit into a lapbook that they can be proud of and also refer back to later.

The Lapbook Student Instruction Guide contains the detailed set of directions that walk you through the booklets and individual projects, starting with lesson seven, "If I lived on Mars". Each lesson explains how to use the booklets for that lesson and asks questions the student will answer in the corresponding project booklets. The lessons cover the planets and the Kuiper Belt, stars, galaxies, the Space Race, and becoming an astronaut. There is a Venn Diagram to make of the meteorites and asteroids as well as a project to learn and describe the Exploded Planet Hypothesis. The instructions are written in a manner that allows you either to walk through the study with your children or to have them read the directions themselves and do the projects independently.

The Teacher's Guide is a supplement to the Exploring Creation textbook, and it tells where in the textbook the answers to all of the booklet questions can be found. It also includes websites related to the lessons--sites with games, activities, and printables. By using the Student Instruction Guide along with the Teacher's Guide, you have everything you need to make a wonderful lapbook project with Jeannie Fulbright's Exploring Creation with Astronomy Lessons 7-14.

I am a big fan of using lapbooks for unit studies. I loved receiving this colorful lapbook already assembled and ready to use. This is jam-packed with interesting and fun projects. I highly recommend this project as a way to learn all the great information in Jeannie Fulbright's Exploring Creation with Astronomy.
