The Ice Age: Only the Bible Explains It Review by Kerri Schnetz

The Ice Age: Only the Bible Explains It is a DVD by New Leaf Publishing Group featuring Michael Oard. The DVD answers questions such as the following: What is an ice age? How many ice ages have there been? When was the last one? How does Noah's flood affect the theories of ice ages? This DVD is 63 minutes long and is intended for teens and adults. I would concur that this is not a video for younger children unless they are very science minded.

Science is a hard subject for those who are not science minded. It is also a subject that can take a lot of time and preparation. In my homeschool it is the most neglected subject. I like to use audio CDs and videos to teach for me. Upon agreeing to review the Ice Age DVD, I knew nothing about the ice age. Of course, I had heard the term but really knew nothing about it. I did assume it had something to do with ice. The DVD explains how an ice age occurs, what some of the many theories are, and why some scientists believe in many ice ages. It goes on to explain why creationists believe in only one ice age and how Noah's flood is the only real answer to the problems scientists are constantly encountering.

I felt this DVD was worth watching because I came away strengthened in my belief that the Bible does explain all things. I came away with a better understanding of what an ice age is and what must have occurred following the flood. I would recommend it to those who, for one reason or another, cannot find time to read about things like ice ages. But if I had to buy it myself, I would find it hard to budget $12.99 for an hour-long DVD. I also found Michael Oard to be somewhat of a distracting speaker and at times very hard to follow.
