Famously Funny! A Collection of Beloved Stories and Poems is a CD of several well-known and loved stories retold by Jim Weiss. If you’ve never had the privilege of hearing a storytelling by Mr. Weiss until now, you and your children are in for a real treat!

The stories and poems on the CD include "The Real Princess," "Father William," "Anansi the Mighty," "The Emperor's New Clothes," "Jabberwocky," "The Tiger," and "The Brahman and the Jackal."

The website states, "Greathall's primary focus is classical literature, history, and science presented in a clear, exciting way that encourages children to read the originals for themselves. Rather than reading from a set text, Jim "tells stories in his own words, reinvigorating a timeless oral tradition. He maintains the integrity of the source material in rich language that appeals to grown-ups and children alike."

Each selection on this CD is funny, thought-provoking, educational and fascinating--not just the words themselves but the way in which Mr. Weiss presents them. His ability to create the emotion, drama, and wide range of characterizations makes it "come alive" to the listener. Mr. Weiss is truly a master storyteller!

We have listened to several different CDs from Greathall Productions and have never been disappointed. They are thoroughly enjoyable, and as a parent, I feel they are an excellent way to introduce good literature to my children while providing wholesome entertainment at the same time.

I would highly recommend Famously Funny! A Collection of Beloved Stories and Poems for every homeschool library.
