WOW! This is a Homeschool mama's dream (or more like reality) cookbook! Almost 500 pages of tips, recipes, ideas for gifts, and more! This is a hardcover, spiral-bound book that covers recipes for everything from bath salts and homemade cleaners to breads and iced teas!
This book is a slice of real life--not of the "model homes and families" variety. I think what I love is that this is full of real recipes, not full of recipes that require ingredients that (a) I'd never have on hand or (b) are so expensive I'd never buy them.
Dining on a Dime Cook Book has information on frugal--but great--meal planning, gift giving, and growing and/or buying your herbs. It also contains an herb guide, tips on freezing foods, leftovers, making your own cleaners, making your own beauty products, healthy snack ideas, time-saving tips, making your own beverage mixes, and so much more. It is packed out with tips and ideas--which I love. I get a ton of cookbooks--and I honestly give most away. But not this one! This is no ordinary cookbook; this is a "family-life-cook-tip-idea book"!
If you're looking for a fancy-schmancy, model-home gourmet cookbook, this is not it. This is the real thing! I highly recommend it--a WINNER!
