The mission statement of The Money Camp is to empower people to create financial freedom in their lives.

According to the founders of Money Camp, it is designed to show you:

  • How your beliefs and attitudes influence your wealth potential
  • That money is simply a form of energy
  • How to manage you money effectively when spending, saving, investing, donating
  • How to put your money to work for you
  • How to build financial independence using stocks, business, and real estate
  • The wonderful ways money is used to support family and community
The principles are:
  • Pay yourself first
  • Save early, save often
  • Put your money to work for you
  • It's not how much money you make, but how much you keep
  • Invest with your head, not your heart
  • Simple habits practiced over a lifetime result in financial independence
Believers would need to adjust these to align with the Scriptures.

The teachers' manual begins by reminding us that we, as parents, are to be examples to our children by our competent money management. We can help our children learn about finances in a real way by sharing, informing, and including them in financial discussions and decisions whenever possible or appropriate.

The playbook is divided into seven areas: a statement of principle; the what, why, how of the activity; comments/extra activities; a vocabulary list; and the activity. Each "play" encourages students to understand the principle but more importantly to apply what they are learning. Moreover, these activities are more than just worksheets; they often require research and thought.

The playbook has quotes, history, and fun facts about money. There is also a list of books, games, and websites. The glossary records the language of money and pulls it all together so the definitions will be consistent with ours.

This program will cause a family and their student to learn some very important lessons about money. The economic lessons are pertinent and significant to financial freedom. God requires us to be steward of His money so understanding how to use it properly is imperative. He has entrusted us with our children thus we must teach them well.
