Preheat oven to 350° F
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Blend in egg and vanilla. Mix well.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
On low speed, add flour mixture until blended.
Add chocolate chips and stir them in.
Using a tablespoon, scoop the cookie batter and drop onto the lined cookie sheet 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until cookies are set and edges are light brown.
Place cookies on cooling racks to cool. Makes about 1 1/2 dozen cookies.
