Will You Accept the Challenge?

One thing I love about teaching my own kids and teaching at our co-op is that I have an opportunity to challenge students. If a student isn’t stretched educationally, they will often not know what they are capable of. Michele Peterson has put together a weekly Photography Challenge. Elementary, middle school, and high school students who have taken her photography course or who simply want to see what they are capable of can join in. Taking each challenge, the student can decide how to complete them. These challenges are not intended to teach you how to take a picture or how to use your camera, but there will be some tips along the way. Preschoolers love a challenge, too. Of course, much of what they are learning is challenging since most of it is brand new. Pre-K Activities: Read and Play with Sarah Gilbert and Wendy Woerner provides preschoolers with fun activities, based on a particular story, that range from painting to baking to playing games and more. These activities will help your child gain a deeper understanding of the story and retain what they have learned. More than three dozen books have been included in this course, with activities to go with each. A few of the stories are A Chair for My Mother by Vera B. Williams, Corduroy by Don Freeman, Jamberry by Bruce Degen, and The Mitten by Jan Brett.
