Do your kids struggle with math? Do you struggle with teaching certain math concepts? SchoolhouseTeachers.com has some helpful supplementary courses designed to assist you as you teach math to your children. Algebra for Kids with Bob Hazen is geared toward elementary and middle school students and gives them a head start in algebra with skip counting. Bob has provided 13 weeks of worksheets so that kids can practice their multiplication through skip counting and then builds upon that strategy as he introduces new concepts. Dr. Peter Price has worked with SchoolhouseTeaches.com for years, teaching Elementary Math to kindergarten and elementary students. He provides worksheets for each grade and teaches mental strategies, easy addition, multiplication, division, and so on. However, he goes outside of the math box and looks at misconceptions of teaching math to young children, using the mountains in Switzerland to teach about slope, combining math and old technology, and using public spaces to teach symmetry. Dr. Price’s video lessons are engaging and interesting. I dare say that parents will learn a good bit, too, as they listen along with their children.
