SchoolhouseTeachers.com is pleased to announce a new music class designed for middle and high schoolers called If It Isn’t Baroque . . . This is an already-complete 12-week course taught by Michelle Martin, instructor of the Music Theory classes which can be found on SchoolhouseTeachers.com. If It Isn’t Baroque is available as an instant download (all lessons are on one PDF). The course covers music from ancient times through jazz, touching on rock-n-roll, and including, of course, Baroque. Students will learn about the history of the various time periods, the major instruments played, the composers who lived, and the different types of music. Besides lecture lessons, learning is enhanced through hands-on activities, art, writing assignments, and listening to music. Once on Michelle’s Music Theory page, click “Access all three music courses here” and then scroll down to February 2015 to find If It Isn’t Baroque.
