What’s New on SchoolhouseTeachers.com in History and Geography

Tyler and Maggie Hogan of Bright Ideas Press continue to bring their excellent North Star Geography series each week. Over the last several weeks they’ve shown us around the lithosphere, the hydrosphere, and the atmosphere. Now let’s take a closer look at the biosphere, including all the organisms that live in it and how they interact with each other.

So far this month, Bonnie Rose Hudson and Safari Saeed have led us on a Trade Route Safari across Asia through the countries of Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Bahrain. We’ve met the Arabian oryx, the dromedary camel, and the lesser Egyptian jerboa. We’ve had fun with words, practiced our desert geography, and even raced a few camels! Join us as we continue our journey along the ancient trade routes and visit Kuwait, Iraq, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia.

Have you enjoyed getting to meet the legendary Hannibal with Cathy Diez-Luckie and Figures in History? Don’t miss your chance this week to make your very own moveable cutout of Hannibal’s elephant! It’s the perfect way to wrap up your study of this military genius.
