What’s New on SchoolhouseTeachers.com in Everyday Easels

/ / Blog, Schoolhouse Teachers

When you look at a beautiful painting of a house, what do you see? Do you see history and conflict? Do you see the story of a painter? Do you see a subject you need a new way for your child to enjoy? If art appreciation isn’t your strongest subject—or not your child’s favorite subject to explore—check out our Everyday Easels units on SchoolhouseTeachers.com. Every ten days, we look at a different piece of art through the lens of eight different subjects: art, Bible, history/geography, English, math, science, physical education/health, and home economics. Plus we’ll create a notebooking page about our piece of art and choose from three different projects to try on our own.

From very large art like the Statue of Liberty to the very small art such as fragments of an ancient floor tile, Everyday Easels engages students in art appreciation in multiple ways. Join us this week as we begin a study of Cape Cod Afternoon by Edward Hopper.
