Are you or your children looking for a new hobby? Are you wanting to try something new? SchoolhouseTeachers.com has many different options. Consider Beginning/Intermediate Guitar. Taught by Jerry Jennings—a recording artist, performer, and teacher—elementary through high school students, or any adult member of the family, can follow along with videos, diagrams, and downloadable pages. Jerry teaches students how to tune their guitars, as well as how to play basic chords. He then progress to scales, triads, and more. By the end of the course, students will be able to play simple pieces. After completing 28 lessons, students can earn 0.5 academic credit. Another course is Photography. Michele Peterson teaches elementary through high school students through text-based lessons and her original photography. She covers topics such as the functions of the camera, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, composition and elements of design, and more. Students who complete all 30 weeks and assignments, can earn one-half credit toward their high school transcript.
