advertising copywriting

February through April brings the publication of a new three-week Writing class on SchoolhouseTeachers.com, and it is also marks the start of a new opportunity for teens!

Sharon Watson has posted a three-week writing course on advertising copywriting skills, and we want to see one of her students in this class come to work for The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine!

This job is a part-time position that will be paid on a per-job basis. To apply for the job, your family must be members of SchoolhouseTeachers.com. Following completion of the course, your teen needs to:

• Send us Sharon’s writing assignments, completed, from the course. There is one assignment in each of the weeks—a radio script, warning script, and an advertising piece for a new product. (Illustration of product, in the final week assignment, is optional; not necessary for inclusion in the work you send to us.)

• Write a short essay—half to one page is sufficient; longer not needed!—explaining what you learned from Sharon’s course and why you’d like to write advertising pieces for The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine. (Make this essay Times New Roman, 12 point, 1.5-line spacing.)

And that’s it! Send the three assignments and one short essay to TOS staff members Tami Fox and Bob Irvin at tfox@thehomeschoolmagazine.com and birvin@thehomeschoolmagazine.com. Sharon Watson will help grade some of the top work as we look for the best candidate to do some writing work for The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine and SchoolhouseTeachers.com!

So come join us for our newest class, Advertising Copywriting, and you might just be working for The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine in the future.
