blog something out of nothing

It’s always fun to see a project finished—to start with nothing and end up with something amazing. By the end of Lapbooking, students in PreK through middle school can create lapbooks for more than two dozen titles. Niki Coburn McNeil of In the Hands of a Child provides step-by-step instructions to help students make their lapbooks a keepsake for years to come, while they learn vocabulary, science, reading, observation skills, and more in the process. Hands-On Architecture with Amy Gillispie guides elementary and middle school students through architecture lessons in many different mediums. Unit 1 focuses on structures and introduces students to fun architecture using lines, planes, and shapes. They will build with food and build with wood. Unit 2 will lead students through the design of their own home, and Unit 3 contains nine lessons that will lead students through the design of a zoo. Printable lessons along with step-by-step photos are included where needed.
