How We Move Around is one of four books in the "What Do You Know About?" series by Barron's Publishing. These books are geared toward younger children, ages 4-7. The 10" x 10" book boasts an extremely sturdy cover and heavy, glossy pages.

How We Move Around begins by discussing how babies get from place to place and how some animals walk on four legs. We then read about walking on two legs, walking with crutches, and using a wheelchair. We learn about the many ways different insects, fish, and mammals get around and why: "We share our planet with a lot of animals, some with many legs and some with no legs at all." The happy illustrations are adorable, full of bright colors and friendly faces.

The book concludes with four activity options. Children can create and play a fun game, make a flying butterfly, create an insect window, and play hopscotch. This is a fun book that does a good job of helping children become aware of the many different kinds of animals on our planet, how they move, and where they live.
