Homeschooling is not for the faint of heart. Trials come our way, but we know we must work through them in order to provide our children the best possible education and life experience we can give them. If you’re new to homeschooling and could use some guidance and encouragement along the journey, be sure to check out Growing in Homeschool Confidence. Willemien Kruger has created a course just for parents. It is designed to help parents grow in their confidence and know-how on home education. Each of the 18 lessons includes questions and homework assignments to help parents deeply explore the questions and topics discussed. Some of the topics explored include how to get started with home education, childhood development phases, learning styles, and developing a course of study. Public speaking isn’t for the faint of heart either. Many of us are terrified when faced with the prospect we must stand in front a group of our peers and speak on some topic. What if you and your children could receive some training? Well, you can! Rebekah Bell has put together a course on Public Speaking for middle and high schoolers. Through videos, informative websites, writing, and performing, the five units cover impromptu speaking, expository speech, informative and current events speeches, interpretative speech, and how to write a memorable speech. Your student will grow as a researcher, performer, and speaker.
