A New Way of Speaking

/ / Blog, Schoolhouse Teachers

Through SchoolhouseTeachers.com, students can learn a new language. Hands-on Hebrew with Evonne Mandella is a fun way to learn one of the original languages of Scripture. During the course of this 16-week class, Evonne teaches elementary through high school students words for family members, parts of the body, clothing, times of day, seasons, etc., through videos, word games, and Scripture. Spanish with Carol Henderson is a nine-month course that provides instruction in numbers, verb conjugation, colors, animals, adjectives, seasons, and more. Biweekly videos are available, as well as weekly worksheets. Sandra Heflin teaches American Sign Language in ASL Adventure. This is a great introduction to this language spoken by many of the hearing impaired in our country. Students will learn the manual alphabet, fingerspelling, time, holidays, adjectives, verbs, and more. Introductory French with Greg Shone has offered two full years of instruction with a third year coming this fall. This course has weekly downloadable worksheets, audio pronunciation guides, online interactive flashcards, and quizzes. Like the other languages available, students will learn the seasons, numbers, verb conjugation, time, greetings, titles, etc.
