Make-A-Mix

My newest hobby seems to be collecting cookbooks. I am always looking for something to make the chore of cooking daily meals a little more inviting and a whole lot easier! "Make-A-Mix" does both without a lot of fuss. If you, like me, have never seen the "Make-A-Mix" books you are in for a real treat. These ladies take "scratch cooking" and make it almost as easy as using a prepared mix without all of the harmful additives, chemicals, sugar, or expense.

The first part of the book is filled with 67 easy to make mixes for you to keep on hand either in the pantry, refrigerator, or freezer. The rest of the book consists of a full array of recipes, 306 to be exact, using the mixes. Unlike "bulk" cooking you simply use only the amount you need each time (just like the convenience foods).

Now you too can make all of those wonderful country recipes using cream of chicken or mushroom soup, or puddings, chocolate brownies, slice and bake cookies, stir-fry's and even hot cocoa from scratch without taking a lot of time away from the other more pleasurable things you would like to be doing! This is one cookbook I didn't mind receiving for Christmas, even if it was from The Urban Homemaker! It has already saved me time in the kitchen for the more important things in life... like playing games with my children and writing this review!
