As a homeschooling mom, wife, writer, my living space can present some challenges. There are so many things going on in my home on a daily basis that I must keep on top of them, or I will drown in disorganization. Because I just finished writing another book, I have let some things slide in my home. I needed an organizational makeover. Debbie's book, Home Management 101, was the breath of fresh air I needed to get my house in order.
Debbie gives us a four-step process to begin to calm the chaos. First, we plan our course of action. She supplies a checklist of rooms and spaces in need of our attention. Next, we sort the items in each little cluttered corner of our world. Third, we organize, and last, we maintain. Sounds like a plan!
Debbie holds our hand through each step of the process, giving specific tips for each area of the home. An entire section of the book is dedicated to organizing the office as well. When we have children, the stuff of children can seem overwhelming. Debbie devotes another section to the organized parent. She gives tips for the car, school items, art projects and more.
A large section of the book is dedicated to time management. I like the fact that she spends a great deal of time helping us to clarify our goals. If we have a goal, then we can streamline our available time. She given us lots of ideas and hints for helping us keep our priorities in order.
The book is rounded out with a great resource section. She lists the best organizational books, available products to help in the process, and web sites to help you meet your goals. Do you need a hand to get your house in order? Give Mom a homeschool course - Home Management 101!
