The "Bella and Harry" series chronicles the travels of two little Chihuahuas. Book Two is a delightful tale for the entire family, describing the journey of the little dogs traveling to Italy with their family. The dogs document their adventure in a scrapbook for readers to enjoy.   We start by learning where Italy is located (geographic features), and then our attention is focused on Venice.

The dogs introduce readers ages 4-8 to some of Venice's unique modes of transportation, festivals, and foods. The artwork is gorgeous and the 35 pages are thick with a creamy matte finish. This would be a wonderful book with which to introduce your students to any study that touches upon Italy. It would be especially nice for engaging younger students in a European unit study with older siblings. The back of the book includes Italian vocabulary words, making this a wonderful way to begin a language study. You could even try making a batch of delicious gelato to enjoy at home while reading this delightful tale! This series is an informative, interactive, and exciting way to introduce children to travel, foreign countries, customs, history, and landmarks. You will love this book and others in this series!
