The Sayings of the Lord: 2 in 1 Memory Match Game and Puzzle is a flexible game that provides the user with four different game options. The game consists of 60 puzzle shaped pieces. Each piece includes half of a verse displayed within a text box and set onto a background of ancient Jerusalem. Twenty-four of Christ's sayings are included on 48 pieces, with 12 additional puzzle pieces containing no verse. These 12 pieces run across the top of the large puzzle and show the distant background of Jerusalem. The game options include: a simple puzzle activity (map of ancient Jerusalem), a "Sayings" match game, a memory game for beginners, and a memory game for advanced players. Designed for ages 4 to 94, the game can be used by a single player individually or up to 5 players at a time. Instructions for all four games are provided. Although the game was not created for homeschoolers, it will appeal to anyone with a desire to increase knowledge of the sayings of Christ.

Two things caught my attention with this product. First, it is actually made in the Holy Land, and second, the storage box is creative and unique. It has a window at the front of the box complete with cross styling and arched top--simply beautiful! The games themselves are simple enough. The matching is great for children in that they can self-correct as they play. The scripture reference is listed on the second half of each sayings pair, making this a great tool for memorization work.

We did think that the puzzle pieces were too thin, as it was very difficult to keep them from shifting around as we were trying to put the puzzle together. And playing the memory game with puzzle pieces seemed a bit odd and awkward at first. But we did manage to do it fairly easily. The actual map of ancient Jerusalem is a bit of a stretch. It is an artist's rendering, and although it is interesting and beautiful, you aren't going to enjoy a grand view of Jerusalem. We wish the company offered a version that showed only the map, without the Scripture verses covering it up. Overall, though, we enjoyed the games. They are handy for family game night and include the advantage of learning Scripture while playing together.

Sayings of the Lord: 2 in 1 Memory Match Game and Puzzle would be a unique addition to any family's game collection. For those who love a good game of memory, this adds a creative twist to an old family favorite. Families will enjoy playing any of the four possible game options, and they'll learn Scripture while doing so!
