Life Long Ago: The Middle Ages Review by Amy Christy

Take a trip through time to Middle Ages in this Life Long Ago reader. Though only 24 pages long, this little book gives us a look at life during that time period. Within just four chapters, you'll explore the Middle Ages and learn about towns and trade, family life, religion, health and exploration. You'll briefly study the people from kings, lords and knights, to farmers, merchants and servants. Peek into the daily lives of families to see what types of homes they lived in and what kinds of games the children played. Sadly, you'll also learn about the number one killer of that time--the bubonic plague. There are many color maps, illustrations and photographs throughout. We also enjoyed an extra Internet link that was included in the book for an interactive Kids' Castle. This is a neat little reader with large print that is definitely worth the price of $5.95. It would be a nice addition to any study of the Middle Ages for Elementary aged children.
