Janie seems to find herself in trouble at home. She's always making noise and waking the twins! Mama needs a little break, so Janie finds herself riding a bus to Washington, D.C., with her Daddy and others, on their way to hear Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. speak. "We'll see history, Janie," her father tells her. Though she's not sure what this is all about, she soon sees the need for change, as she witnesses firsthand the injustices that others are suffering. She is also given the opportunity to stand up for what is right.

Through this bus journey, Janie meets several people that change her life, and in the end, she realizes that Dr. King's dream belongs not just to some but to us all. This book is based on the true story of the author's father and grandfather as they traveled to Washington, D.C., to participate in the 1963 civil rights march. It's a beautifully illustrated hardbound book and would make a wonderful addition to any home library.
