Race to Read! Board Game Review by Lisa Barthuly

Rev up your childs reading skills with Race to Read! This new board game from EduPress will have them learning reading skills and having fun doing it.

Geared for 2-8 players, Race to Read focuses on teaching Parts of Speech, Noun Plurals, Verb Tenses and Agreement, Antonyms, Synonyms, Silly Sentences, Blends, Definitions, Rhyming, and more.

To play, choose one player to be the keeper of the answer key. Each player chooses a pawn, rolls the die, and moves the number of spaces shown. The player then picks a card that matches the color of the space landed on, reads the question out loud, and answers it. The keeper of the answer key checks the players answer. If the player is correct, he moves ahead; if incorrect, the turn is over. Along the way, players encounter "pit stops," where they must stop and roll again. Children will "race around the track" to get to the finish line and attempt to get to the winner's circle with an exact roll or by answering a question correctly and moving ahead into it, all the while polishing their reading and vocabulary skills.

This is a fun game for children that has them learning all the way through. This would also make a nice gift.
