A Baby's First Foods is packed full of nutritional information, recipes, serving size breakdowns, menus, information on using/choosing freshly milled grains, and, of course, making homemade baby foods. This is a beautifully made book--hardcover and over 100 pages of information on feeding our families.

Chapters include "Baby Food Basics" (methods and equipment, storage ideas, and readiness tips), "First Grains, Fruits and Vegetables" (types of grains, types of wheat beans, milling and cooking beans, juicing, and more), and "First Family Recipes" (special recipes for Breakfast, Easy Family Dinners, Sauces, Holiday Dinners, Homemade Cookies and Crackers, and even pages for your own notes). The "Making Bread from Whole Grain" section gives information on equipment. (I love my Bosch mixer I got from Ripe 4 Harvest. It makes making my family's daily bread such a simple thing!) The book includes information on the Bosch mixer as well as grain mills, flakers, whole grain breads, tea breads, terminology /definitions, . . . the list goes on!

This is a beautifully practical book that encourages the homekeeper in her high calling of caring for her family. An absolute recommendation!
