Carl R. Sams II and Jean Stoick, the authors and photographers of the popular books Lost in the Woods and Stranger in the Woods, have pulled together some of their wonderful photos into a sturdy board book for toddlers called Find My Friends.

The images show animals in their natural habitats and highlight their ability to blend in with their surroundings. Reading this book to your little ones gives you the opportunity to introduce them to God's brilliant design of animal camouflage.

Carl and Jean have been photographing wildlife for more than 20 years, and their experience truly shines in this beautiful book, as it also does in their many award-winning resources.

As I sat down with my six-year-old, two-year-old and twenty-month-old and opened the chunky pages of this book, we talked about colors, camouflage, and counting. They could hardly believe that the walking stick was really a living insect. Their favorite picture was of a mother goose with her goslings tucked inside her wings as one particularly precious little fellow pokes his head out of her down feathers.

The only complaint I heard from the kids was, "Is that the end? I want to see more!" Naturally, so did I. We'll either have to make some trips to the library, or I'll have to invest in a couple more of their resources for our home library.
